JBH Solutions has achieved 2022 Organizational Membership status with Health Level Seven (HL7®) International for Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) implementation!
HL7® FHIR® is the specification instructed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT and was announced in Winter of 2021, solidifying the administration's commitment to mandating interoperability and increasing health data exchange and adoption in healthcare today.
The COVID-19 pandemic amplified the need for improved healthcare data exchange to advance interoperability. When implemented effectively and designed by experienced practitioners who are focused on better patient care, health interoperability (information - data - exchange) will help reduce the burden of administrative processes and also act as a secondary support for proper patient care. With information able to be exchanged between payers, providers and patients, better support and more efficient care coordination can develop. According to CMS, “the regulations also include policies which may reduce burdens of the prior authorization process by increasing automation and encouraging improvements in policies and procedures to streamline decision making and communications.”
